Up to 100 refugees
arrived in Craven District from Ukraine from April 2022 onwards, many through the Homes for Ukraine government scheme, some through the Family and Friends scheme.
Craven Supports Ukraine group helped to arrange an event in Austwick after being approached by Graham and Gwen Cleverley who offered to open their garden.
This was one of many events across the Craven district which are bringing Ukrainians together for friendship, support and a break from everyday life in the UK.

Local government
North Yorkshire Council will do home checks & make sure accommodation is safe. They will support children and adults, deal with school admissions & visit newly arrived guests.
