A group of people in Skipton met in November 2025 to discuss what can be done to show support for Ukraine. As a first activity they decided to begin collections to take to Ukraine via a Centre – Chorley and District Support for Ukraine.

Collections are scheduled every few weeks. Items needed are medical supplies including crutches, wheelchairs etc, candle wax, old spectacles, warm clothes, blankets etc.

John recently travelled to Ukraine with two others to deliver aid to Rotary in Lviv. He writes:

“SLAVA UKRAINI just back from a 5 day 3000 mile round trip to Lviv Ukraine to deliver aid with Pete Kerly and Tony Nicholas to Borys Bodnar and the Rotary Club in Lviv. We dropped the aid at the Lviv institute of science and technology and students and their teacher helped us unload. FAST was set up by John Midgley who has undertaken 14 trips to date and this is number 15. It’s a chastening but also uplifting to meet these brave Ukrainian people as they endure a 4th year of an unjust war. A massive thank you to all those who donated to our go fund me or aid itself any surplus will go towards our next trip.
